Primitive Period | 1978 - 1979

Inspired by Mayan art and colonial art, Ana Maria begins the search for her own style to express her message: spiritual peace and joy of living. During this time, Ana Maria evolves rapidly, she paints regional landscapes, fields of flowers, picturesque scenes with architectural ideas; all executed with great precision.

She shows a solid balance between shapes and colors. The richness and exuberance of both, translated into the hundreds of multicolored flowers, make her surfaces poetic to nature. Ana Maria expressed her emotional states through those visual poems.
